Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park will begin requiring vehicle reservations for three of its most visited areas to manage visitation, protect the environment and enhance visitor experiences from May 24 to September 8, 2024. Visitors who want to drive Going-to-the-Sun Road from its West entrance or access North Fork or Many Glacier will need a reservation.
Customers booking lodging, boat tours, bus/shuttle tours or guided hikes within the park will have their vehicle reservation automatically included as part of the activity confirmation – serving as an entry permit and limiting the number of cars at its entrance gate.

Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park is an icon, making it a must-see destination. Last year alone, 3.9 million visitors visited, making it the sixth-most-visited national park. Unfortunately, overcrowding has led to road and parking congestion that delays emergency response time while diminishing visitor experience; additionally, human waste accumulation along roads and trails disturbs wildlife habitat and contributes to water pollution.
To address these problems, the park will institute a reservation requirement for vehicle entrance during peak-hour periods this summer. This rule will apply to anyone entering via car between April 13 and June 30 and August 16 and October 27; other means such as YARTS buses or on foot don’t require reservations during these time frames. Its effectiveness will be reviewed during the 2024 season to see whether it reduces congestion while simultaneously improving visitor experiences.
Arches National Park
Arches National Park lies just outside Moab, Utah and boasts an astounding collection of natural sandstone arches, spires, balanced rocks and fins. These formations were formed through underground evaporite layers or salt beds and make for an amazing sight when seen first-hand.

To help address these challenges, the park is piloting a timed entry reservation system this year. Visitors will need to obtain a ticket before visiting and visit during a specific 1-hour window; once this ticket has been properly validated they may leave and reenter within the same day provided their ticket remains valid. Ticket validation does not apply when camping permits, backcountry permits, commercial tours or Fiery Furnace permits are held; however entrance fees still apply.
